The Yankees were playing at home tonight and that meant that HR balls would be flying out. That was the case in fact. The Yankees hit 4 solo home runs and won the game 5-3. Mark Teixeira, Nick Swisher, Johnny Damon, and Derek Jeter all hit HR’s. Tex hit his league leading 18th of the [...] I am not very happy with the move the Yankees made. First we took Hughes out of the rotation which I think was a mistake. He was just starting to pitch better and now we throw him back into the bullpen. I was okay with activating Chien Ming Wang because he looked like he was [...] Tonight: LHP CC Sabathia (5-3, 3.46) vs LHP David Price (1-0, 3.00) Peter Gammons from ESPN spoke on the AJ Burnett suspension by MLB and called it stupid. Burnett got suspended for 6 games from throwing over the head of Nelson Cruz. He did this because he was defending his own player, Mark Teixeira. Tex got hit twice by Vincent Padilla and Burnett was just retaliating. The [...] Melky Cabrera has been a hero at Yankee Stadium over and over again this year. He just keeps coming up with big hits and they aren’t just any type of big hit. They are usually walk-off and game winning hits. He is probably one of the biggest surprises on the Yankees this season. He lost [...] Heard on the Joe and Evan show on WFAN 660 this morning that AJ Burnett will be suspended 6 games for throwing at Nelson Cruz on Tuesday night. Burnett was getting Mark Teixeira’s back after he got thrown at by Vincent Padilla. Haven’t heard if Padilla got suspended but he did get put on the [...] Tom Kaminski of WCBS 880 has been providing us some great shots of the destruction of old Yankee Stadium. However it is painful to watch now. The old park is almost no more and before we know it everything will be removed. It looks like the move came sooner than we expected. I am surprised that Phil Hughes got pushed to the bullpen. I guess we will learn more as this story unfolds.
